Show Don't Tell

As he opened the door, a rotten smell shot his nose. The paint crawled down the door frame as the floorboard creaked when he walked to his bed.

This is a part of my story where I used a writing strategy called "Show, Don't Tell". Here is and example: TELL - I had good supper last night. SHOW - Last night I slurped down some good food which was a palatable combination of sauce, veggies, spices, and spaghetti. My show don't tell was about one of the characters entering a house. 

Narrative Plan - Outstanding Opening

In a house close to the city named Metropolis-∞, there lived a so called man, Zakh “Insane” Miller. Zakh has a reputation of doing illegal things like stealing and pickpocketing other people. He did those things to buy materials for a special project he is working on. As the sun set, he started hdashing home. As he opened the door, a rotten smell hit his nose. The paint crawled down the door frame as the floorboard creaked when he walked to his bed.

This is my number talks I did with Jonathan, Ved and Nelvin. The problem was "0.8 + 0.7=?". First we had to do it solo in our corner then we have to explain our solution and see what connections we could make between our solutions..

Where: The story is set in a imaginary world with lots(x2) of technology.

When: The time of the story is in the future in a futuristic world (1571 years in the future)

• See: A city full of technology and a lot of lights in the distance and you can see the small broken/old/moldy house that he came out of. (Start/Beginning)
• Hear: The wind howling
• Smell: Air
• Taste: No Taste
• Touch: The broken/old/moldy house?
